Disappointed with the state of Pokemon Sword and Shield? Well then, you might be happy to hear that the Temtem release date has just been locked in for January 21, 2020.
You might be unfamiliar with Temtem — that's okay, it's a pretty new game! In fact, it's so new that it isn't even out yet, but it does have a sweet Early Access Announcement trailer that you can check out:
So yeah, it's a game that's very similar to Pokemon but also not a Pokemon game. According to IGN, the Early Access period will have the following:
- 20+ hour campaign
- 76 Temtem to catch
- 3 out of 6 islands available to explore
Temtem has some lofty plans for features. Of course there will be a story campaign, but there's also going to be a co-op mode. That's shouldn't be a surprise since this will be a massively multiplayer online world with lots of Temtem tamers hanging out and working together — or competing. That's right — you can battle other Temtem tamers, too!
Interestingly competitive play for Temtem will take a few elements from popular eSports titles like League of Legends. At the beginning of each battle, players will pick 10 of their Temtem to participate but you and your rival will take turns picking and banning the monsters. After the dust settles you will head into the battle with a team of 4 Temtems.
Versus combat will make use of a 2v2 system. These won't just be a simple battle, either — you'll be able to buff your ally's Temtem and execute combination attacks with your partner. Use your stamina carefully, though, lest you expend all of your resources too early!
If that weren't enough incentive to check this out, you'll also be able to customize your character and buy your own house. It isn't out just yet, but you might be able to get in a little bit before the Temtem release date.
Sign Up for a Beta Stress Test Before the Temtem Release Date
As Temtem is intended to be a massively-multiplayer game, it would be a tremendously bad idea for Crema to just flip a switch and turn the servers on one day. That's why they're going to be running a stress test prior to the game's launch.
You can sign up for the Temtem stress test by heading to playtemtem.com and entering your e-mail, easy as that! If Temtem sounds like your kind of jam, you'll be able to pick it up on Steam or the Humble Store when it launches on January 21, 2020.
