Tired of those lame-os on Team Mystic? A brand new Pokemon Go Team Change Medallion will let you switch allegiances and join any of the other teams in the game, just like that. Players have requested the ability to switch teams for some time now, and Niantic has finally made it possible for Pokemon Trainers to switch to another one of the game's three times.

At the moment, Pokemon Go has three teams: Team Valor (Red), Team Mystic (Blue), and Team Instinct (Yellow). Each of the teams is functionally similar, although they each have their own unique team leader. Teams most often compete over the game's gyms, trying to control them in order to earn PokeCoins and items. Unfortunately, many people who signed up in the hectic flurry of the game's early days found themselves on different teams from their friends (myself included). Thankfully, the introduction of Pokemon Go Team Change Medallions will now allow you to switch to any of the other teams whenever you like at the cost of 1,000 PokeCoins.

There are, however, some caveats with the Pokemon Go Team Change Medallion according to the news post announcing this new feature. First, there's the cost—1,000 PokeCoins is roughly equivalent to $8.00 since you can buy 1,200 PokeCoins for $9.99. Secondly, there's a special condition on the Team Change Medallion—you can only use it once every 365 days. If you're going to change your team, you had better be really sure about the one you want to switch to. I recommend Team Valor as they are way cooler than those losers on Team Mysic and the paste-eating patrol known as Team Instinct.

Once you switch teams, any Pokemon you have defending gyms will be returned to you with no earned PokeCoins once they're defeated. You can also recover them simply by visiting the gym they're stationed at, also with no coins. You'll be able to get your very own Team Change Medallion starting at 4:00 PM EST on February 26, 2019, for the price of 1,000 PokeCoins. Get together with your friends and take some neat pictures with the enhanced Photo Mode!

What do you think of the new Pokemon Go Team Change Medallion? Will you be switching teams at the first opportunity or are you happy with your initial choice? Let us know in the comments below!
