The Pokemon GO Mega September event has been announced, giving players the opportunity to fight Mega Raid Bosses with their friends while also providing some discounts on Remote Raid Passes for those of us still stuck at home.
Pokemon GO has been out for a good few years now and Niantic has been steadily cranking out new content and events for players to enjoy. A new "Mega September" event has just been announced and it will give you the chance to enjoy some rather unique raids.
What's new in Pokemon GO Mega September? Naturally, there will be more Mega Raids for this event. Players can also gain an increased attack bonus from friends in raids for the duration of this event. This event builds nicely on the Mega Evolution mechanic that was introduced not too long ago.
Also arriving in September is event-exclusive Field Research tasks, a mainstay of the ongoing content in Pokemon GO. These particular tasks will have a bunch of different rewards, but certain rewards will give Mega Energy for Pokemon including Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, and more. This is important, as right now this is the only way to earn Mega Energy points that doesn't involve Mega Raids.
This is already a pretty robust event, but the Pokemon GO Mega September event is also setting some goals for the community. All players can enjoy unlocking Mega Pidgeot if the community completes two million Mega Raids and they can unlock Mega Houndoom by completing 275 million battles.

Pokemon GO Mega September Has Discount on Remote Raid Passes
Many of us are still stuck at home, so we can't exactly go out to participate in raids with our friends. That's probably why Niantic is also setting up a serious discount on Remote Raid Passes.
Trainers have until September 30, 2020, to grab three Remote Raid Passes for the wonderfully low price of just 1 PokeCoin. These passes will allow you to participate in Raids without having to go halfway across town — a welcome option for those of us who aren't too keen on going outside these days.
