Developer and publisher Niantic has taken good care of Pokemon GO players since its original release in 2016. Since then, the mobile augmented reality title received Pokemon from different generations and even titles, received additional features, and held several limited-time events to celebrate Halloween among other special days. The developer recently shared their roadmap for the month of March, and it features a ton of content for players to go through.

First off, players who finished their Team GO Rocket Special Research will have access to March's event. Defeat them and Giovanni to receive a chance to receive the legendary shadow Pokemon Entei. In addition to that, starting from Sunday, March 1st, all the way through Wednesday, April 1st, Ferroseed’s evolved form, Ferrothorn, is available as a Research Breakthrough encounter. Thundurus, the legendary electric and flying Pokemon, is making its way to five-star raids as well.

Niantic isn't even stopping here, as players will get to enjoy legendary five-star raids every weekend this month, featuring the Shiny Darkrai, Shiny Altered Forme Giratina, Shiny Cobalion, and even a Shiny Lugia. The developer will hold a mysterious weekend event between March 20th and 23rd, with Stardust bonuses activated and a yet-to-be-revealed Legendary Pokemon. The encounter rate of several Pokemon types was boosted, with Nincada also available more often in 5 km eggs. Here is a list of what to expect in March:

  1. Save Shadow Entei from Giovanni
  2. March Research Breakthrough encounter: Ferroseed with bonus Stardust
  3. Thundurus bolts into five-star raids
  4. A month of Legendary Special Raid Weekends
  5. A mysterious weekend event is coming...
  6. A Team GO Rocket global take-over is imminent!
  7. The Psychic Spectacular returns with new faces
  8. Pokémon Spotlight Hour and Mystery Bonus Hour

Unfortunately, Italy, Japan, and South Korea may have an altered roadmap for March, considering the recent repercussions of the Coronavirus outbreak. We will keep you updated with Niantic's decisions for the aforementioned countries.

Let us know what are you most excited for from March's events in Pokemon GO.
