How many times have you taken a look at your shockingly unfashionable, out-of-season Pokemon team and wished they had better taste? Well, Pokemon Go Fashion Week is here to fix all that. Starting next week, you'll get the chance to catch lots of 'mons wearing stylish items of clothing, and two new Pokemon are also making their debut in the game.

What's coming as part of Pokemon Go Fashion Week?

Right before Litwick Community Day hits Pokemon Go next month, you're getting another event to enjoy. The Pokemon Go Fashion Week event starts on Tuesday and runs until the following Monday, and it offers the chance to obtain two never-before-seen Pokemon, Mareanie and Toxapex. You'll need 50 Mareanie Candy to evolve it into Toxapex, though.

As well as these two, you're also getting the chance to catch some new costumed Pokemon. Diglett, Dugtrio, Absol, and Toxicroak are all making an appearance, sporting appropriately stylish attire to match the Fashion Week theme. That means fancy bowler hats for Diglett, Dugtrio, and Toxicroak, and some sleek shades for Absol.

Four Pokemon Go avatars wearing new clothes inspired by the Pokemon Go Fashion Week event
It's not just the Pokemon themselves that are getting in on the Fashion Week fun in Pokemon Go.

Wild encounter rates are being cranked up for fashionable 'mons like Butterfree, Croagunk, and Blitzle, and if you're very lucky, you'll also get the chance to catch a shiny Furfrou. Several new Raids are also being added, including a five-star Yveltal raid and a Mega Lopunny raid. Lest you feel left out of the fun, there will also be new avatar items available, so your character doesn't need to miss out on Fashion Week shenanigans. Make sure to take a look at the full Pokemon Go Fashion Week announcement for the lowdown.

It's a strange time for Niantic right now. While Pokemon Go is still pretty popular, the studio recently laid off several staff members and canceled four projects it had in the works. The future of Pokemon Go seems pretty secure right now, but time will tell what lies ahead for Niantic. Stay tuned for more info on this.
