The Pokemon Go Air Adventures Event has been announced -- you'll have one week to get Mega Latios and Mega Latias in early May 2022.
As a game that requires movement in the real world, Pokemon Go faced more than its fair share of challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. Things have finally started to return to normal with last week's in-person Community Day and the announcement that Pokemon Go Fest 2022 will also have in-person events. Now, a new event is kicking off next week to celebrate the launch of Mega Pokemon.
The Pokemon Go Air Adventures Event is building on recently-announced changes to Mega Pokemon -- and it will be your best (and perhaps only) chance to get Mega Latios and Mega Latias.
Let's start with the Air Adventures Event. Players will be able to take on Mega Latios and Mega Latias in Mega Raids. Mega Latios has the Charged Attack Luster Purge (120 power and a chance to lower the opposing Pokemon's Defense, 100 power in Gyms and raids) and Mega Latis has the Charged Attack Mist Ball (120 power and a chance to lower the opposing Pokemon's Attack, 100 power in Gyms and raids).
This event will also feature a special Flying Pikachu and a number of other Pokemon -- here are the Pokemon that can be found in wild encounters for the duration of the event:
- Charizard (rare)
- Doduo
- Drifloon
- Flying Pikachu
- Jigglypuff
- Magikarp
- Mantine (rare)
- Meowth
- Psyduck
- Swablu
- Wingull
This event builds on previously-announced changes to Mega Evolutions alongside updates to Mega Raids. When is the Pokemon Go Air Adventures Event Start Date?
The Pokemon Go Air Adventures Event start date is Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time. The event will last until Sunday, May 8, 2022, at 8:00 PM local time.
