Pokemon Legends: Arceus release date has been announced as January 28, 2022, with Pokemon Shining Pearl and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond release date set for November 19, 2021. The release dates were announced on Pokemon's Twitter with preorders also being announced as available for Arceus and the Gen 4 remakes. There will also be a double pack for Shining Pearl and Brilliant Diamond if you're into that kind of thing.
Pokemon Shining Pearl and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond are what you would expect--they are remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl. As one might not expect, they aren't being developed by Gamefreak. Instead, they're being developed by Illca, who have also developed Pokemon Home, so they at least have some sort of Pokemon pedigree. The games also aren't reimaginings similar to the Pokemon: Let's Go series, but faithful remakes where players can explore the same story and same game functions. The only thing notably different is the chibi art style, which definitely may not work for everyone but at least it's something we've never seen in a Pokemon game before.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is perhaps the more exciting Pokemon game coming out for a lot of people. It's set long before the events of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, with players creating the first Pokedex by surveying, researching, and capturing wild Pokemon. The cover art shows Mount Coronet, which is described as "towering over the expanse of a bygone Sinnoh region", which sounds exciting. An open-world Pokemon title where players aren't tied to routes or a meandering storyline is what players have wanted for decades, so Arceus definitely has a lot of hype to live up to.
As mentioned, Pokemon Legends: Arceus will be releasing on January 28, 2022, with Pokemon Shining Pearl and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond releasing on November 19, 2021. For more information on all things Pokemon, stay tuned to TechRaptor for more information.
