As part of the Pokemon franchise's 25th anniversary, a new Pokemon animated series is being created that will air over the rest of 2021. This series, Pokemon Evolutions, will take place over eight episodes, with each episode focusing on a region from each of the main Pokemon games.
Announced just hours ago, Pokemon Evolutions promises fans "a fresh perspective on some familiar locations." Each episode will feature one of the main regions in the core Pokemon games and the characters in it. The announcement trailer seen below bits of the first episode, which takes place in the Galar region from Pokemon Sword and Shield, along with champion Leon, his Charizard, and younger brother/player's rival Hop. Each episode will also feature a connecting thread featuring a Pikachu who leads viewers on their journey through the regions.
Pokemon Evolutions will have eight episodes total, starting with the Galar region and ending off with the Kanto region from the Red and Blue/Green generation. The schedule for their release is as follows:

Pokemon Evolutions will launch its first episode on September 9th, and can be watched on Pokemon TV or the official Pokemon YouTube channel. Meanwhile, Pokemon is still working on that Pokemon 25 album, featuring music artists like Post Malone, Katy Perry, and Mabel McVey.
