Sony have announced that their PlayStation E3 presentation will be broadcast to over 85 cinemas across the US and Canada.

The full list of cinemas can be found on the official PlayStation blog. Since this presentation will also be available for free online, tickets are free and only restricted by the size of the cinemas involved on a first-come-first served basis, and gaining a ticket does not guarantee entrance. Tickets sales opened Tuesday, May 30th at 10:00 AM PT, on playstation.com/E3experience, and require the use of a free Gofobo account to register.

Sony have promised an experience like no other, stating that watching E3 "alongside other members of the PlayStation community is an experience like no other", so anyone lucky enough to actually get into a cinema is likely to have a good time. There is also free swag available, with attendees being rewarded with an exclusive poster and card #76 from the PlayStation Collectible Card series. And while that's it for physical goodies, Sony have also promised a "digital gift basket" of goodies from the PlayStation Store for all attendees. Not bad for a free event.

While there are no mentioned to plans to expand this outside of the US or Canada for most countries, a small note at the bottom of the post alerts Brazilian PlayStation fans to keep their browsers tuned to the Brazilian PlayStation blog for details of their own cinema scheme.

At the time of writing, Sony have revealed via that same blog post that multiple users are experiencing issues getting their tickets, so we will update as this story develops.

Sony's PlayStation Experience 2017 event will be held at E3, June 12th.
