It's finally been announced: The PS4 now has a release date of November 15th here in North America, and November 29th in Europe.

Another significant announcement is that Sony will be launching in 32 markets compared to Microsoft's 13. Now, keep in mind we don't know exactly how that's going to shape the console war that's coming or the actual number of console units that will be distributed throughout those markets either.

So we very well could see similar unit sales between the two companies, depending on how each country is allocated units. If the current generation of consoles tells us anything, it's that North America will consist of the majority of shipped consoles for the Xbox One, while Sony will more than likely spread out their shipped units to Japan, North America, and select European markets.

Confirmed games that will be available on launch date are:

  • Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
  • Battlefield 4
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts
  • DC Universe Online (PSN)
  • DriveClub
  • FIFA 14
  • Just Dance 2014
  • Killzone: Shadow Fall
  • Knack
  • Lego Marvel Super Heroes
  • Madden NFL 25
  • Minecraft (PSN)
  • NBA 2K14
  • NBA Live 14
  • Playroom (Pack-In)
  • Skylanders: SWAP Force
  • Tiny Brains (PSN)
  • Warframe
  • Watch Dogs

This is shaping up to be a fantastic holiday season for gamers so far, and we aren't even to September yet!
