In addition to the recently-announced price cut in the US and Japan, it seems like Sony's PlayStation 4 will also be getting a rather significant price cut in Europe.

According to some scans of local store folders, Sony's console will be seeing a €50 price cut. Potential buyers will be able to pick up the 500 GB version of the console for €349 (down from €399).

The 1TB version of the console will also be discounted to €399, offering the newer version of the console bundled with select games (the scans mention Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Assassin's Creed Syndicate, among others).

We can perhaps expect an official announcement to take place during the upcoming Paris Games Week starting in the 28th of October.

The PlayStation 4 has been doing pretty well for itself since it got released in November of 2013. The console is reportedly set to sell close to 120 million units during its lifetime, with the Xbox One having trouble keeping up.

The PlayStation 4 also saw the release of the 3.0 system update last month. The update allows you to instantly tweet videos made on the console and start communities surrounding your favourite games.

It also allows you to stream directly to YouTube and makes it possible for developers to host events for their games on the console. Too bad we've not been given the option to change our PSN names yet!

Quick Take

As I'm living in the Netherlands, I can vouch for the legitimacy of this rumour since the scans show respected stores from all across the country. As a PlayStation 4 owner, I do think that the console is lacking a great line-up as of yet, but the coming weeks and months will see the release of many a game.

Among the announced games are Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Need For Speed, Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition, Star Wars Battlefront and the much-awaited Fallout 4, plus a ton more revealed during their TGS Showcase last month, so I think that this is a perfect time to become a PlayStation 4 owner.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
