The Play NYC 2019 Graffiti Games developers have been announced! Play NYC is New York City's premier gaming convention that will be returning once again to the island of Manhattan this summer. Much like its previous years, a series of "Graffiti Games" will be placed on the show floor, providing unique experiences for attendees to enjoy that they can't get anywhere else.

This year's lineup of developers focuses on the LGBTQ+ community in honor of WorldPride and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots, a pivotal moment in LGBTQ+ history where a community violently fought back against a raid of the Stonewall Inn by police. Plainclothes officers were in search of homosexuals and/or cross-dressers and the situation quickly spiraled out of control, causing two days of unrest in the community. One year later, the first Pride parades were held in major cities.

Here are the developers that will be creating this year's Graffiti Games at Play NYC 2019 according to a press release from Playcrafting:

Play NYC 2019 Graffiti Games Developers

Rogue Fong

Rogue Fong is an indie developer who specializes in gaming "installations" — and no, I don't mean putting a disk into your PS4 and downloading a 40 gig patch for Battlefield 5. Real-world setpieces are merged with digital art to create something new, unique, and beautiful.

Dean Razavi

Dean Razavi is an indie game developer who we've interviewed about his games Vidar and From Rust. A mainstay of the New York indie gaming scene and Playcrafting events, Dean creates unique games that are an awful lot of fun to play.

Geneva Heyward

Geneva Heyward likes to make quirky gaming projects. Most notably, a successful Kickstarter for the rhythm/dating game Skate & Date is currently in the works.

Ayla Myers

Ayla Meyers makes games. Seriously — a lot of games. Many of them are quite the charming little creations like Just One Boss, a title that is exactly what it says on the tin and was one of our picks for the best games at Play NYC 2018.

Blake Andrews

Blake Andrews has been working as an organizer at Babycastles for some time now, a cool collective of artists who create interesting new things with the medium of video games.

You'll be able to see these five developers debut unique, one-of-a-kind creations as part of the Play NYC 2019 Graffiti Games in just a little more than a month! Play NYC returns to Manhattan on the weekend of August 10–11, 2019. You can get tickets right now via Eventbrite.
