Play NYC 2019 is back! New York City's premier gaming convention is returning to Manhattan for the third year in the row. This time, the convention is moving to The Metropolitan Pavilion, a good 20 or so blocks away from last year's convention which was hosted at The Manhattan Center.
If you haven't had the chance to attend Play NYC, it's a pretty great event. Hundreds of developers descend in the city that never sleeps to show off their video games, VR games, and tabletop games. Pretty much everything on the show floor is playable and you'll often have a chance to see games in all stages of development! Tabletop fans can also usually pick up a copy of the game they played right then and there, bypassing any worries about online shipping or whether or not a product is out of stock at your local gaming store.
Play NYC 2019 is going to be the biggest show yet for gaming school Playcrafting and it's sure to be an exciting event. A continuing partnership with Bose will see the Bose AR-cade on the show floor, a collection of some of the best creations from the first Bose AR Game Jam."This year, we’re going back to our roots, ensuring everything about Play NYC — from the look of the show to its hundreds of playable booths — reflects, celebrates and creates opportunities for creators and fans to unite through the power of games." —Playcrafting CEO Dan Butchko
This year's show is going to be moving to The Metropolitan Pavilion, a venue situated on West 18th Street in Manhattan. This is the third venue in the three years since the show first debuted in 2017.
Tickets for Play NYC 2019 start at $25.00 per person; you can purchase them over at Play NYC's website. You might want to check out our recap of last year's show to see what it's all about or our list of the best games we saw! You can watch the trailer announcing this year's show below.
