Planet Zoo has been chugging along for three years now, and the new Planet Zoo update celebrates that third anniversary by adding a new species, 12 tracks that can be listened to on Spotify, a Community Challenge, and more. The new species is the Red Deer, which is one of the largest deer species that can be found in most of Europe, Northern Africa, and West Asia. It's in the Least Concern category for endangerment at the moment, so it won't be going away anytime soon, which is nice.
Another permanent addition to the game is four animal balloons, which are the Tiger, Giraffe, Chimpanzee, and Red Panda. Your guests can walk while holding them, which should definitely add some flavor for the NPCs walking around your zoo.

An in-game community event will be running from tomorrow through Sundya, and it should be pretty enticing to all you zookeepers out there. If you release 5 animals, you'll receive a boosted animal that has an 80% boost in any gene. There's also a 2% chance that that it'll have Piebald and Albino coloring as well, which is pretty neat. As well as this, you'll gain a complete Avatar outfit for every 20 animals released, so you and your animals will both look pretty snazzy if you release enough animals.
If you want to jam out while releasing animals, there are 12 new tracks that have just been released on Spotify for your listening pleasure. The collection is called "You, Me & Other Habitats", and it will also be available on other streaming services.
Interestingly, this update comes a day after Frontier Developments announced that it had acquired the Warhammer 40k: Chaos Gate studio Complex Games. Does this mean we'll get a Warhammer zoo game eventually? Probably not, but I've got you thinking about it now so you're welcome. The Imperial Zoo awaits, citizen.
Last but not least, if you're after some real-life merch, you can go to the Planet Zoo store and acquire some for yourself. You can get t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, mugs, posters and more, so be sure to give it a look if you want to deck yourself out.
