The Planet Zoo Update 1.9 release date has been revealed alongside the announcement of the Planet Zoo: Wetlands Animal Pack.
Planet Zoo has been steadily updating the game ever since it first launched in late 2019. Core game updates aside, the fine folks at Frontier Developments have also released DLC packs to add new animals to the game, including animals from Australia, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Now, details about the next update and the next DLC pack have been revealed.
What's New in Planet Zoo Update 1.9?
The first major addition in Planet Zoo Update 1.9 is Roaming Educators. This new feature will allow Educators to give "mini talks" to guests as they walk around the park, adding a dash of extra educational activity to your park.
Also arriving in this update are new options for placing water -- a good new addition to pair with the upcoming release of the Wetlands Animal Pack DLC which is adding 8 new animals to the game, a new timed scenario, and more.
Here are the new animals that are being added in the Planet Zoo: Wetlands Animal Pack, many of which have been frequently requested by the game's community:
- Asian small-clawed otter
- Danube crested newt
- Nile lechwe
- red-crowned crane
- spectacled caiman
- wild water buffalo
