The Planet Crafter Update Adds New Biomes, Automation, And More

The latest Planet Crafter update, Lore & Automation, is now live. What does it add? Well, you can now explore 3 new ancient secret biomes, use a new auto crafter to automate your base, and breathe on your planet. That's right: you can now breathe on your planet once it reaches the breathable atmosphere stage, which is undoubtedly a very exciting development for Planet Crafter fans. It's been three months since the last update that added insects and waterfalls, so this update seems like a big step up.

There are also 3 new butterfly species that can be encountered, which isn't nearly as exciting but hey, it's better than no butterflies, I guess. What's much more interesting are the gigantic heaters and drills (t5) that you can now build, and you can also now do your best Deep Rock Galactic imitation with the addition of the Ore Extractor t3.

New secrets are yours to uncover in the latest Planet Crafter update.

Other changes include 2 new achievements and 3 new golden crates that can be acquired. There's also a new mushroom tree seed, a new golden effigy, and some balancing. This means an increase in both the insect terraformation and the water filter terraformation level requirement, which should definitely help shake things up a bit.

Last but not least is the news that your save files will seamlessly transfer over to the new Planet Crafter update. You'd think that this wouldn't be a big deal, but there have been plenty of games where new updates are completely incompatible with prior saves, requiring players to start over. If you don't have the update yet, be sure to restart Steam to download the latest version of the game (v0.6.006).
