Miju Games has released its The Planet Crafter 2023 roadmap, showing what's coming to the game in the next twelve months or so. The studio says it wants to take its survival crafting terraform-'em-up "to the next level" in the new year, so you can look forward to big updates ahead of its full release.
Throughout 2022, The Planet Crafter received regular updates in Early Access, adding features like new biomes and insects, among other things. Miju says you can look forward to more "quality content" this year, with future updates offering content on a similar scale to 2022's feature drops.
According to a Steam post wrapping up The Planet Crafter's 2022, Miju is currently aiming for the end of February when it comes to the game's next update. It's been shunted back a little because the developer says it's been working on "things that were not directly related to the next update" for the past few months, including studio workflow and talent recruitment. Here's a look at the new The Planet Crafter roadmap for this year.
This year, we can look forward to two major updates, one of which is arriving in late February. The other is due to arrive in the third quarter of the year. We don't yet know what either update will contain, but given that previous updates have added new biomes, new creatures, and more, both upcoming updates are likely to introduce similar things.
Finally, in Q4 2023 or Q1 2024, The Planet Crafter 1.0 is coming. Along with that release, we'll also see a "surprise", which is rather tantalizing. Miju Games doesn't reveal any more about this prospective surprise, so we'll have to wait and see what it is. Suffice it to say that if you're a Planet Crafter fan, there is, as Miju itself says, "a lot more to come".
You can grab The Planet Crafter right now via Steam Early Access. If you're currently playing the game and you want to make the most out of your terraforming efforts, be sure to take a look at our Planet Crafter guides, which cover everything from the terraforming process to crafting and much more.
