Planet Coaster Getting New Rides and More in Spring Update

Frontier Developments announced today that their game Planet Coaster will be getting a free update on April 11, 2017, that adds new coasters, rides, and other features. If you haven't dived in yet, you can read our Planet Coaster review here. The game earned an 8.5/10 and was considered "an excellent theme park simulator."

The ten-minute theme park length roller coaster is one way to keep your guests entertained.

This update marks the second large expansion for Planet Coaster adding fun new content for would be amusement tycoons. Coming in April are three new roller coasters, three new customizable flat rides, and go-karts. This will bring more opportunities for the community to make their own creations and add more variety to Planet Coaster's Steam Workshop, which is already filled with nearly 100,000 community creations.

Besides just rides, players will be able to implement crime and security elements into their creations. You'll need to monitor your theme parks for vandalism and pick-pockets that can now crop up in-game. To help keep your park safe from this new threat and your guests happy, CCTV and security guards will be available to install and hire.

New roller coasters will include the Steel Hydra, the game’s first suspended swinging coaster sure to thrill guests. Two new shuttle coasters are also joining the lineup of novel rides added tot the game with Trident and Bakasura. ‘Speed’ Go Karts are a new track ride that players can design themselves. New flat rides include the nausea-inducing Elixir Machine, the classic Big Wheel and vintage inspired ZoZo.
