Frontier has announced the Planet Coaster 2 release date, and the second game in the studio's theme park management series is landing later this fall.
Per an announcement on the official Planet Coaster website, Planet Coaster 2 arrives across PC and consoles on November 6th, and you can pre-order both the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition of the game right now as well.
Picking up the Deluxe Edition nets you ten extra rides that Frontier says are "perfect for bestowing a classic theme and feel" upon the parks you create. All pre-orders, whether Standard or Deluxe, will also get three bonus rides as part of their pre-order.
Planet Coaster 2 was originally unveiled in July. As the name suggests, it's the second Planet Coaster game, following on from its very popular predecessor, which was released in late 2016.
As you might imagine, Planet Coaster 2 will once again let you manage your very own theme park. You'll be able to design your own rides, set up facilities however you like, and give your guests the theme park experience of their lives.
Naturally, the sequel will also boast a number of new features and improvements over its predecessor. First and foremost among these is the ability to build new water rides, including flumes, swimming pools, and more.
Frontier is also promising "next-level customization" that utilizes brand new building and pathing tools, allowing you to build a park that looks exactly like the one in your head.
Planet Coaster 2 will also let you build and work on parks with friends "using a shared cross-platform save", and the Franchise Mode will let you collaborate directly with other players as well.
In short, Planet Coaster 2 is angling to be the definitive theme park sim, so you'd better watch out, Park Beyond. Planet Coaster 2 launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on November 6th.
