If you've been clamoring for an A Plague Tale: Requiem 60 FPS mode, then you're in luck. Asobo and Focus have just released a patch that adds a performance mode to the action-adventure game on PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as bringing new graphics options for PC players.

Performance modes in games are a major talking point right now, what with Arkane's Redfall launching without a 60 FPS mode on consoles and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor struggling with its own performance mode. Previously, A Plague Tale: Requiem simply targeted 30 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S (and 40 FPS on HDMI 2.1 displays). Now, however, the tides are turning.

In a new tweet on A Plague Tale's Twitter account, Focus and Asobo say that a new 60 FPS mode has been added for the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game. You'll note that Xbox Series S hasn't been included, so you'll have to stick to 30 FPS if you're playing on Microsoft's less powerful current-gen console.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a pretty graphically demanding game, but it now has a 60 FPS mode on current-gen consoles (but not Xbox Series S).

In addition to this new performance mode, new graphics options have also apparently been added for PC players, allowing them to optimize graphical performance further. Other PC optimizations include changes to rat numbers, rat refresh rates, and character refresh rates on "minimal configurations" to reduce CPU load. It sounds like Asobo and Focus are doing whatever they can to streamline the A Plague Tale: Requiem experience.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is currently available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. In our review of the game, TechRaptor's own Tyler Chancey awarded it 8 out of 10, praising its "nerve-wracking" stealth action gameplay and great story while criticizing its uneven narrative pacing and "tedious" combat arenas. If you loved A Plague Tale: Innocence, odds are good you'll like this one too, and now there's an even smoother way to enjoy it on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
