Obsidian has detailed the next patch for their kickstarter project, Pillars of Eternity that was just released.
Path 1.03 will fix several major issues with the title, including a game breaking clothing bug that eliminates any passive bonuses by simply double clicking on clothing and armor.
This major bug was headlining several issues with Pillars of Eternity, including audio issues with minimized tooltips, most of these retroactively so they would effect current saved games.
One of the bigger issues has been several questlines being bugged or difficult to trigger in the game. Obsidian has also worked on several of these quests, fixing crashes and trigger issues in places such as Raderic's Hold and the Salty Mast, and completely fixing the Winds of Steel questline, to name a few. These bugs were one of the bigger issues stemming from Pillars of Eternity, along with the clothing bug, so it is good to see it resolved.
Other major changes included some balancing and interface issues, making some weapons or spell more or less powerful slightly, and adding a antialiasing toggle for the graphics, to allow lower end computers the chance to play the game without major graphical issues.
One of the more interesting things listed in the patch is the ability to dress up your pets in hats. It is presented in a half-joking manner, but it is a new feature being added to the game. So if you ever wanted a bear in a turban, now is your chance.
The patch is already available for Steam, with the GOG version of the Patch coming soon, according to Obsidian.
Pillars of Eternity has been met with great reviews for its return to the isometric style of infinity-engine era RPG's. This upcoming patch just continues Obsidian's pledge to making the best game possible for their backers.
