Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire

Patch 1.2.0 for Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire has landed, and it's a big one.

The actual patch notes for this update are incredibly numerous and in-depth, so we'll focus on the two main additions to the game here. First up, Pillars of Eternity 2 now has mod support for character backgrounds, voice sets, and classes. In addition to this, a new Mod Manager option has been added to the main menu's Settings page to make it easier to find and install mods.

Obsidian has also been listening to players who aren't too happy with the Player Stash feature since a search function has been added. The Player Stash can get pretty unwieldy as the game goes on and the player accrues more items than they know what to do with, so the search function should make it easier to spot what you need in a pinch (or just help with optimization).

Other than these two major additions, a host of bug fixes, UI improvements, and quality-of-life changes have also been made to Pillars of Eternity 2 in patch 1.2.0. When players' relationships change with their companions, the game's Reputation screen will now show which choices led to that change occurring. In addition to this, when players take on a quest, a new UI will now show them which companions the game recommends they take depending on which ones are relevant to that quest's storyline.

Some changes have been made to class mechanics in patch 1.2.0 of Pillars of Eternity 2, as well as individual quests. Class changes mostly minor tweaks to power levels and skill interactions which Obsidian hopes will bring a little more balance to the game. Some quest interactions were either bugged or not where the developer hoped they would be, so they've been altered.

As we said, the full extent of the changes is pretty staggering from a sheer numbers perspective, so we've barely scratched the surface here. This is the full changelog, should you want to peruse.
