Phasmophobia Update v0.6.2.0 has arrived, adding the new ghosts Deogen, Moroi, and Thaye along with an overhaul of the truck and a new voice recognition system.

If you haven't played Phasmophobia, you've been missing out on one of the spookiest games on Steam. Kinetic Games has been teasing the addition of new ghost types and other improvements to the game. This update has now gone live, along with a few surprising new additions to the mix.

What's New in Phasmophobia Update v0.6.2.0?

The first major addition in Phasmophobia Update v0.6.2.0 is three new ghosts: the Deogen, the Mori, and the Thaye. Exact details on these ghosts will be hidden for "The Investigation Period," a two-week event where players will have an increased chance to encounter these new ghosts and figure out how they work. Kinetic Games aims to give players the opportunity to act like real investigators and try to figure out what makes these new specters tick.

Another major change is an overhaul to the truck that serves as your mobile base. The truck has a new layout, new models, and more. You'll also find that equipment is now placed on the wall of the truck, although you can't place equipment back on the wall until the Custom Difficulty Update arrives in the future.

Also arriving is a brand-new voice recognition system. Kinetic Games is no longer using Windows speech systems, so you can now use voice recognition on non-Windows systems such as GeForce Now and the Steam Deck. A total of 17 languages are supported at launch including somewhat less-popular languages such as Dutch, Czech, and Greek; more languages will be added in a future update.

This update also adds additional hiding spots for three-player and four-player games as one of its many new features; you can read about all of the changes and additions in the full Phasmophobia Update v0.6.2.0 patch notes. If you haven't yet jumped into the game, you can buy Phasmophobia on Steam for $13.99 or your regional equivalent.
