The Persona 5 Strikers release date has been leaked for the upcoming hack-and-slash spinoff. The game will hit the West on PC via Steam, as well as PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, on February 23rd next year.

How do we know the Persona 5 Strikers release date?

This news comes via prominent Twitter gaming personality Wario64. A trailer - which has since been taken down - was uploaded to YouTube confirming the release date. After the trailer was removed, Wario64 managed to take a screengrab of part of the trailer displaying the release date and platforms on which the game would appear. Wario64 says they can "assure you it's real" despite the trailer being pulled.

Given that February isn't too far off, it's likely we'll hear something official from Atlus pretty soon. This trailer was probably intended to be uploaded in the next few weeks but was mistakenly fired off by someone at Atlus too quickly. Expect to hear an official announcement from the studio about Persona 5 Strikers' Western release date soon, especially given this leak. One date that seems very possible, if not today, would be the December 10th Game Awards.

What is Persona 5 Strikers?

Persona 5 Strikers (known in Japan as Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers) is an upcoming crossover between Atlus' Persona 5 and the Dynasty Warriors series of hack-and-slash games. It will feature a combination of real-time combat and turn-based battling, with Persona actions issued via a command menu. Just like in Persona 5, you'll be alternating between exploring the real world and delving into dungeons, where you'll need to battle through enemies, collect Personas, and fulfill Requests.

Narratively, Persona 5 Strikers will continue where the story of Persona 5 left off. It takes place six months after the events of the previous game and sees protagonist Joker once again assembling the Phantom Thieves to investigate a series of mysterious occurrences across Japan. If you have a Japanese PlayStation Store account, you can check out the demo right now. No news yet on whether that demo will be coming to the West, but expect it before February if it does.
