Vinyl has been making a comeback in the last few years and now Atlus is getting in on the retro audio format. The game maker is partnering with iam8bit to release the Persona 5 soundtrack on vinyl. The records will be available in Q4 2017 in special editions that can be pre-ordered starting today.

Persona 5 launched earlier this month on April 4th for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 garnering many positive reviews from critics and players. Here are TechRaptor’s first impressions. The game follows a group of troubled Tokyo high schoolers who face internal and external conflicts as they go on fantastical adventures and attempt to make the world a better place. It also has a fun soundtrack composed by guitarist Shoji Meguro.

The soundtrack will be available to listen to on vinyl record later this year thanks to iam8bit, who has produced many game soundtracks on vinyl. Their partnership with Atlus will provide gamers with two different special editions to choose from, an Essential Edition and a Deluxe Edition. Cover art for the records hasn’t been revealed yet but will be found on the iam8bit store when it’s ready.

The Essential Edition will include 4 vinyl records with selected tracks chosen by the Atlus Sound Team costing $100. The Deluxe Edition features the entire Persona 5 soundtrack and comes with 6 records for $175. There are limited pressings of the Deluxe Edition (1,000) so pre-ordering might be a good idea.

In addition to making records, iam8bit will be documenting the process with videos, photos, and interviews. These will include visiting the mastering studio Infrasonic to show how music is mixed for vinyl. They will also show how the records are made from behind the scenes of the French factory Noiseland to a reveal of the “Mystery Album Art”.

If you’re interested in pre-ordering the Persona 5 soundtrack on vinyl head over to iam8bit which are starting today. The records will ship in Q4 2017.
