At the PC Gaming Show, Ludomotion announced a sequel to their indie roguelike Unexplored. Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer's Legacy is a hardcore procedurally-generated roguelike in which the decisions that you make impact subsequent playthroughs.

The announcement trailer features the protagonist exploring numerous environments, including expansive forests, steppes filled with hulking beasts, deserts with black tar pits and bone monsters, and swampy waters hiding giant faces. Though it is a sequel to the indie hit Unexplored, publisher Big Sugar Games (formerly Digital Uppercut) says there will be major changes to Unexplored 2, including abandoning the confines of dungeons in favor of a sprawling outdoor setting as well as a totally new visual style. As game director Joris Dormans puts it,

The first game is a dungeon crawler, but Unexplored 2 takes the adventure outside the dungeon. You can travel across a whole continent of generated places. There are so many things to see and to do – so much to explore, so many challenges to overcome, so many stories to discover. Unexplored had hundreds of hours of content, but Unexplored 2 will be even bigger."
The game will also include a new and improved method of procedurally-generating the world. According to publisher Big Sugar Games (formerly Digital Uppercut),
Less immediately obvious, but absolutely fundamental to Unexplored 2, is the use once again of advanced content generation. Ludomotion has continued to refine and improve its revolutionary technology, which is now capable of even more impressive results across a range of systems, from world and level creation, to generated stories and puzzles.
No official release date was given, but the game will release on Steam and players can currently sign up for open access on Fig with an estimated release sometime in 2020.
