Killing Floor 2 - Summer Sideshow Splash

Tripwire Interactive took to the stage with the company's Creative Director Bill Munk. He opened by talking about the recent success of Rising Storm 2, stating that the company is busy working on creating new content for their war-themed first person shooter. After a bit of a chat, Mr. Munk announced that Killing Floor 2 will be getting its first seasonal event, the Summer Sideshow. New weapons & cosmetics will be making their way into the game for this seasonal event. Much like Killing Floor, the enemies of the game will be getting reskinned.

The Summer Sideshow will be a limited event lasting for a total of one month. Over 50 cosmetic items will be available for players to get their hands on, totally for free and earned through an in-game ticket system. Paid cosmetics will also be available for players who'd like to get their hands on them. Two new weapons are being introduced to the game as well: the HZ12 shotgun for the Support perk and the Centerfire Lever Action rifle for the Sharpshooter perk (as well as Multi-Perk with Gunslinger). You can see one of the guns in this Steam news post made earlier in the week. In addition, the Weekly Outbreak was announced - a new weekly challenge where the game's rules are changed. For example, Tiny Terror changes the game where enemies will shrink every time you do damage to them. As it stands, they have eight Weekly Outbreaks ready to go.

A new map will be making its way to the game as a big part of the event. A new set of objectives titled "The Tragic Kingdom" are available for players to complete; successful completion will unlock the event-exclusive Sideshow Hazmat Suit.

Summer Sideshow will begin tomorrow, June 13, 2017 - it hits the update queues at 1:00 PM Eastern Time and should be good to play shortly after that. The game will be free-to-play for the next week on Steam starting tomorrow, and it will also be on sale during this free play period. The event will be making its way to PS4 "a little later" according to a tweet on Tripwire Interactive's official account, further clarified to be "later this summer" in a tweet by the company.
