Both the PC Gaming Show and Future Gaming Show have been postponed. The shows were originally due to take place this Saturday June 6th and will now instead take place a week later on June 13th. These delays are both owing to recent events involving the killing of a black man, George Floyd, by a white police officer. Said events have sparked protests not only in the US but also in the rest of the world.

PC Gamer and GamesRadar, which run the events above respectively and are owned by the same publishing company, both issued statements clarifying their positions. PC Gamer says it wants to make room for "those speaking out and demonstrating" to let their voices be heard. It also points readers to a post on its website in which can be found reading materials and donation links. Similarly, GamesRadar says that "it's right that other voices are heard at this time". Both sites say they're excited for the events when they do happen next week.

Which other gaming events have been postponed?

These two events are the latest to be postponed in light of the protests happening across the USA and the wider world. Earlier this week, the upcoming PlayStation 5 "Future Of Gaming" event was delayed indefinitely. Activision also postponed the upcoming content seasons for Call of Duty: Modern WarfareWarzone, and Mobile, while Epic Games has announced it'll be delaying the upcoming season of Fortnite. Again, we're not quite sure when some of those seasons will now be happening.

It's not clear how these protests will continue to affect the gaming industry. As far as we know, the upcoming Guerrilla Collective event is still scheduled for this weekend. That event will bring together developers like 11 bit studios, Larian Studios, and Coffee Stain to show off their new projects and talk about their development processes. There's a chance that Guerrilla Collective will be delayed in a similar manner to the above events. We'll let you know more as soon as we get it.
