The news was recently revealed by Resident Evil Wiki's Twitter, which stated that they had been "... made aware that Paul Haddad, the voice of Leon in the original Resident Evil 2, has died this week..."

Paul Haddad was a voice actor for Resident Evil 2 as well as other games such as Daymare: 1988. He also acted in T.V. shows and movies going all the way back to the 80's in a long and prolific career.

On February 14, Paul Haddad posted a long post on Facebook detailing his struggles. He talks about having OCD and his difficulties in living with such a disease. In trying to treat his OCD, around seven years ago he received a deice called a DBS that helped him deal with his OCD, saying that he was the 30th individual on the planet to receive such a device. For the last time he received a new battery in October 2019, he was in "... excruciating pain..." and had severe inflammation in his chest, neck, and head. He started a fundraiser to help pay for his third neurosurgery in three months. Talk about bad break after bad break. The cause of death is unknown at this time.

Beyond his neurological issues Haddad also previously had battle throat cancer. Interestingly, he never spoke about his cancer in his Facebook post, which was made only two months before his death. A strange decision, especially considering how much detail he went into on everything else, but hey, it's his life, his body, his choices. Still, it must come as quite a shock for fans of Paul Haddad.

Quick Take:

Man, this really sucks. He had a bad time of it the last decade or so. Sometimes it's easy to think that celebrities must live on a different planet, but then you have people like Paul Haddad who had a really tough time of it for a long time. RIP.
