If you ever wanted to experience the chaotic action of a classic sidescrolling brawler beat 'em up, Path of the Warrior is sure to provide a visceral VR experience.
Announced during The Game Awards, Path of the Warrior is the latest title published by Oculus Studios and developed by studio Twisted Pixel. It is a VR-exclusive title playable on the Quest and Rift, that lets players punch out goofy, cartoonish enemies while paying homage to old-school titles like Double Dragon.
Gameplay includes interactive environments with objects that can be used to thwack enemies. Players build up a meter which allows them to unleash special attack boosts. Path of the Warrior has five different environments total - several of which you can see in the trailer above. It also includes boss battles and "five hours of gameplay with near-endless replayability," and is even cooperative, according to a release by Oculus.
Here is Path of the Warrior's description, according to its store page:
We interrupt this broadcast with breaking news...chaos in the streets of Rage City tonight! The myriad local gangs, once at constant war with each other have now unified under a mysterious new crime boss...Mr. S. Thugs have flooded the entire city, unleashing a wave of terror. The police are overwhelmed and the public is in imminent danger! Can anyone put a stop to the crime wave? Can anyone save Rage City?
Path of the Warrior is also available now on the Oculus Store for $19.99, so check it out for some VR brawlin'. Here is the store link to purchase Path of the Warrior.
