Paradox Interactive has announced that instead of giving partial refunds (which was found to not be practically possible) to customers affected by the price hike and subsequent roll-back, they would instead give users the choice of a free PC game or two pieces of DLC "... as a gesture of goodwill."
The games on offer will be:If a prospective user happens to own all of the above, then the user will receive "... equivalent giftable keys."

- Hearts of Iron IV
- Crusader Kings 2
- Europa Universalis IV
- Magicka 2
- HoI IV: Death or Dishonor
- EU IV: Third Rome
- CK II: Monks and Mystics
- Stellaris: Utopia
- Tyranny: Tales from the Tiers
Paradox Interactive's Escher also notes that Paradox's products (except for USD prices, which were not changed) have reverted back to the pre-increase levels as of yesterday. Paradox also promises that the prices rollback has occurred, "... prices will be frozen for a period of three months."
The reason that users are receiving games and DLC instead of partial refunds because after discussing with their sales partners it was decided that they weren't practically possible. As such, anyone who bought any Paradox product between May 17 and today qualifies for this offer. This applies to purchases on various storefronts, including both GOG and Steam.
