Hi-Rez and the World Esports Association (WESA) announced today that the Paladins Premier League will be streamed exclusively on Facebook Live. The Paladins Premier League is a new esports league that gives amateur players the opportunity to fight through the ranks to eventually compete on a professional level.

The Paladins Premier League will consist of 10 member organizations from WESA—EnVyUS, Fnatic, G2 Esports, mouseports, Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Renegades, SK Gaming, Splyce and Virtus.Pro. All of the professional players in the league will be paid a minimum salary and teams will also see revenue sharing of league profits. In the future, Hi-Rez is interested in expanding the league to include non-WESA member teams as well.

In addition to Facebook Live hosting all of the Paladins Premier League matches, Watch, Facebook's video hosting service, will host a weekly Paladins Esports show.

As for why Hi-Rez is going with Facebook, COO and Hi-Rez co-founder Todd Harris said this:

With Facebook’s global reach and community building tools, we expect Paladins esports to continue its explosive growth on both a grassroots community level and at the highest tier of play in the Paladins Premier League.
The process for a more community-driven league began in July with the announcement of the Paladins Global Series, which hosted an open-bracket series of tournaments held in seven regions around the world. This too is organized through Facebook Groups, with the Paladins Global Series group currently hosting over 31,000 members.

You can currently get involved in the Paladins Global Series by looking for a team at the Paladins Global Series Group or if you have a group together already, you can have your captain join the Paladins Global Series discord and fill out a form one hour before your region's scheduled play time. You can find those times, and much more info, on this page here.

Streams for the Paladins Premier League will start sometime this fall, so stay tuned for more information.
