Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2018 has been announced and we've seen the first glimpse at a Blizzard World reskin according to a tweet on the game's official Twitter. A new Zarya skin has also been revealed!

It's that time of year again - Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2018 is almost here! We're sure to see some new skins revealed in the coming days and some neat surprises. Among the cool new things revealed for this year's holiday event is the news that we'll be getting a Christmas-y version of Blizzard World.

Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2018 will feature a holiday version of Blizzard World.

The tweet shows us a brief glimpse of the holiday version of Blizzard World that will be coming for the Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2018 event. While most holiday maps tend to be a bit subtle, Blizzard World almost seems to be overdoing it with the decorations from what we've seen. This is totally in line with its design as a theme park - they overdo pretty much everything.

The return of the holiday event will likely include both the Mei's Snowball Fight and Yeti Hunt game modes in the Arcade. Unfortunately, we probably won't be getting anything new in terms of gameplay. Game Director Jeff Kaplan stated in a developer update from a few months ago that we weren't likely to be getting new content for seasonal events for the near future. The 2018 Summer Games and Halloween Terror events certainly followed this disappointing pattern.

We're sure to be getting some new skins for this event. Russian tank Zarya has an adorable brand-new Legendary on the way for the holidays:

Nothing else has been revealed yet, but fans have their own designs on what they'd like to see. A particularly popular submission on the /r/Overwatch subreddit brought up the idea of a "Reindeer" skin, something that would perfectly fit the holiday theme. If Blizzard likes the idea, we, unfortunately, wouldn't see anything until next year.

Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2018 will kick off on December 11, 2018.
