Some new rumors have surfaced about upcoming Overwatch content to be revealed at Blizzcon, thanks to a report from ESPN.

For starters, there's a chance this may be Overwatch 2. It's still unclear if this will be treated as an entirely new game, or just a new "chapter" in Overwatch's history. Likewise, it's still unsure if this will be free for current Overwatch owners, or a paid expansion. However, the logo will change so that there is a little orange 2 next to Overwatch.

The main focus on this update will be on PVE content. There will be multiple co-op missions, with one mentioned being a four player "story experience" in Rio de Janeiro. While there aren't any details on what you'll be doing in the experience, a report from Kotaku back in June compared it to popular co-op FPS Left 4 Dead. Additionally, the update will include "hero talents" and "in-game items", but we don't currently know what that will include and if it will also be for the PVP mode. The "Overwatch 2" update mostly appears to be focused on the story and lore. Prehaps we'll finally get some missions that are actually canon.

Additionally, there will be a new multiplayer mode. Once again, there's very few details on it, other than it has the name of "Push." There will also be a new multiplayer map set in Toronto, and "at least one new hero." All of this is set to be revealed at Blizzcon, which starts on Friday, November 1st. People attending the con will get a chance to try out the new content.

Overwatch is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
