Orisa, the 24th hero of Blizzard's popular first person shooter Overwatch, is going live on March 21st, 2017 according to the game's official Twitter.
Orisa is a robot cobbled together from the spare parts of some of Numbani's destroyed OR15 defense robots. Built by genius child engineer Efi Oladele, this newest addition to the Overwatch lineup was created with the protection of Numbani's citizenry in mind. Orisa's loadout reflects her design philosophy - she's equipped with an multitude of defensive and crowd control tools that will make her an interesting addition to the Tank class of heroes. A preview of the hero that shows some of her design process was released alongside the announcement:

This particular hero was designed to be an "anchor tank" similar to Reinhardt that players can rally around. Orisa's primary weapon is a gatling energy cannon called the Fusion Driver that slows her movement when fired. Her right-click ability is the Halt! ability which launches a miniature graviton charge similar to a smaller version of Zarya's ultimate; it can be detonated at will to draw enemies towards the projectile (and it will automatically do so when it impacts a surface). Fortify, her Left Shift ability, gives her 50% damage reduction and makes her immune to any enemy abilities that would impair movement such as McCree's Flashbang or Reinhardt's Earthshatter. Protective Barrier is set to the E key by default and allows her to deploy an energy shield with 900 health via a projectile. Finally, her ultimate is the Supercharger - a deployable canister that increases the damage of all heroes within 25 meters and line of sight by 50% for 15 seconds.
Orisa will technically be the youngest addition to the Overwatch team with an age of approximately 1 month. The announcement of the hero was originally hinted at with changes to the Numbani map on the PTR towards the end of February; Orisa officially debuted just a few days later on the Public Test Realm on PC. Overwatch's Game Director Jeff Kaplan had hinted about the video accompanying the announcement yesterday in an impromptu AMA (Ask Me Anything) that he did on the /r/Overwatch subreddit.
Do you think Orisa has had enough time on the Public Test Realm to be added to the game? What do you think about her kit? How do you think Orisa is going to change the meta? Let us know in the comments below!
