We're well into autumn (even if the weather doesn't quite feel like it), and that means it's high time for the Halloween Terror Event to make a return to Overwatch! The patch notes are out and the new goodies are here for all the good little trick-or-treaters to get their hands on. Let's break it down!

Halloween Terror 2018 once again brings about the return of Junkenstein's Revenge with the addition of Brigitte and Tracer to the roster of playable heroes. (Unfortunately, neither of them got Legendary skins to match their debut in this year's event.) Take a look at the trailer to get a feel for some of the new content:

If you're expecting something new in terms of gameplay, Jeff Kaplan told fans in an earlier Developer Update that this year's event would largely be a repeat of what we've seen before. While we won't be getting new gameplay, the patch has plenty of changes going through that recently finished testing on the Overwatch PTR.

The long-awaited changes to Torbjörn are now live in Overwatch, saying goodbye to the clunky armor pack system forever. Pharah has been changed to make her slightly more aggressive and require more precision from the use of her weapon. Orisa & Soldier: 76 have had the spread on their respective weapons tightened a bit, Doomfist now has a shorter damage falloff on his Hand Cannon, and McCree's Combat Roll has had its cooldown reduced from 8 seconds to 6 seconds. The final gameplay change is to Brigitte - her shield health has been reduced from 600 to 500.

Speaking of shields, brand new visuals have been implemented for all of the barriers in the game as well as all of Mei's abilities. The real visual goodies are, as always, in the new skins, emotes, and highlight intros that have been made available - check out these handy-dandy galleries to see what they look like.

Château Guillard has been made extra spooky for the Halloween Terror event. This special version of the map has a bunch of creepy decorations and is much darker than most maps in the game; you can expect to have a difficult time enemies striking from the darkness.

While the Junkenstein Lore in Overwatch has advanced somewhat, one thing we won't be seeing is a Halloween comic as stated by Lead Writer Michael Chu on Twitter:

As always, a number of other changes have made their way into the game; be sure to read through the full patch notes for all the details. You can also check out the event's page on the game's official website. The Halloween Terror event in Overwatch will be up and running until October 31, 2018.
