By now, you've probably heard all about Overwatch, Blizzard Entertainment's hero-based shooter based on Team Fortress 2. The game's been pretty hard to ignore since its launch earlier this year and has since gone on to attract millions of players, spawned its own eSports league and, most recently, leaned in a little too heavy on the Sombra ARG. If you've been holding off on giving it a go, you'll get a chance to try the game for yourself from November 18 through November 21 for free.
This free weekend is for players on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and will allow you to try all 22 heroes currently in the game across all the game modes that are also available for paying customers, including this week's Brawl, and you'll be able to play the game on all 13 maps. You will also be able to level up your account and you'll be able to earn lockboxes and cosmetic items.
If you decide to buy the game after the free weekend is over you'll keep all the progression you've made over the course of the free weekend. Note that you'll need an active PlayStation Plus membership or an Xbox live Gold membership to take part in the free weekend. Players on the PC won't need to buy a subscription, you'll only have to create a free Blizzard (formerly Battle.net) account.
For the people who want to know when the free weekend kicks off in their timezone, Blizzard has provided you with a handy map:
