The Outer Worlds 2 trailer announcement

The Outer Worlds 2 trailer was revealed at Microsoft’s E3 2021 presentation. The sequel to Obsidian Entertainment’s 2019 hit The Outer Worlds, The Outer Worlds 2 was announced and came with a very meta trailer that commented on the difficulty of showcasing a game that’s early in development.

As for The Outer Worlds 2 gameplay, none was shown, but The Outer Worlds 2 teaser trailer promises beautifully rendered planets and seemingly endless exploration. Plus, like many of the titles announced at the Microsoft & Bethesda E3 2021 show, the game will be available on Xbox GamePass.

The Outer Worlds 2 announcement was followed up with the official The Outer Worlds Twitter account confirming a new star system and new crew, giving players plenty of fresh locations to explore when the game becomes available. Though it can be risky for studios to announce a game when little more than the title and logo have been completed, The Outer Worlds 2 announcement trailer prepares fans that actually playing this game is not something that will happen anytime soon.

The Outer Worlds 2 release date is still a far way off, but fans of the original are sure to look forward to what next-gen features this sequel will offer. At this point, we can't even be certain what in the trailer will make it into the final game, as the narrator comments on this possibility when a creature appears on screen. At this point, The Outer Worlds 2 announcement definitely raises more questions than it answers, but as a hype tactic, it will definitely get that post-E3 anticipation going among fans.
