The Ooblets v0.5 update is now live! This brand-new update brings a winter chill to Badgetown with snow, and that's not all — the "Coldyrain" update is also introducing Wubblin, a brand-new Ooblet.
Ooblets is a game that mixes Farming RPGs with monster battle games with an adorable cutesy art style. You'll be able to grow the titular Ooblet creatures or find them in the wild, ultimately culminating in intense dance battles to see who has the best moves. Now, a batch of new content has arrived just in time for winter!
What's New in the Ooblets v0.5 Update 'Coldyrain'?
The first (and most obvious) addition in the Ooblets v0.5 update is the new snow weather system. Snow will be happening pretty frequently in Badgetown to start so players don't have to wait too long to experience it. The frequency of snow will be reduced starting sometime in January, buit it will still be possible to get snow after that time.
Along with snow comes a "frozen crops" system. Frozen crops will essentially "hibernate" until the snowfall is over; a snowstorm typically lasts 1–4 days. Players have the option to place heaters near crops or pour Meltilizer on them if they don't want to wait for the snowfall to end.
The Coldyrain update is also introducing the new "Wubblin" Ooblet, and this creature is special: you'll only be able to capture this penguin-themed creature when it's snowing. Snowfall will also let you get the new Snowplops resource, so it's definitely worth exploring the land when the snow starts to fall!
Where's the Rest of the Ooblets Winter Update?
One might note that the Coldyrain update seems a little light — that's because the developers have split this update into two parts. The "Wildlands" update will be arriving sometime later in December 2020.
