Glumberland has come to reveal the Ooblets early access release date for the highly anticipated farming/creature collection/life sim game as July 15th, 2020.
What is Ooblets anyways?
Ooblets is a mash-up of monster collecting games like Pokemon and life/farming sims like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing. You build your team of the titular ooblets and take them to competitions, where they face off in vicious... dance-offs to earn new ooblet seeds. To help support your weird dance hobbies, you'll be growing crops on your farm where you can expand and decorate your home as you evolve it from a tiny shack into something worthwhile. Beyond that, you'll meet the townsfolk, become friends with them, and team up with the mayor to save the town!
Where and When is Ooblets releasing?
The Ooblets early access release date is set for July 15th. You'll be able to play Ooblets in Early Access on the Epic Games Store on PC (where it has an exclusivity period, presumably for one year), and in Game Preview on the Xbox One. Ooblets will cost 24.99 to buy, with a 20% discount in the first week for early purchasers.
Quick Take
I'm interested in Ooblets as it looks like an interesting mash up of several ideas to create what should be a fun experience. Using a pokemon like collecting and subverting expectations of 'battles' with dance offs is quite and the story aspect promises to be, for me at least, more interesting and engaging then Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been.
