Upcoming hack-and-slash game One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 has a release date. The game will launch for PC and consoles on March 27th next year.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is, as you might expect, the fourth instalment in the spin-off Pirate Warriors series. The franchise mixes the characters and world of the One Piece manga with the gameplay of the Dynasty Warriors series. Narratively, the fourth game will include some familiar manga elements, but will also include an original ending since the manga is still running. You can check out the new release date trailer for One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 below:
Gameplay-wise, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 doesn't look like it'll be mixing up the formula too much. It'll offer more of the same melee-focused hack-and-slash gameplay that you know and love from the Warriors franchise. You'll take on hundreds of enemies in musou-style gameplay, using massive special attacks and combos to clear entire waves at once. That's not to say there's nothing new, of course. The new Titan mode makes enemies huge, meaning you'll have to switch up your style a little if you want to beat them. It's not much, but it should keep you interested if you're a lapsed fan of the series.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 lands on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on March 27th next year. If you pre-order the game, you'll receive the three Vinsmoke Brothers (Ichiji, Niji, and Yonji) as early unlocks, as well as two extra costumes. The game is also getting an exclusive European version in the form of the Kaido Edition. This version packs in a diorama depicting the battle between Luffy and Kaido in addition to the game. Finally, on launch day, you'll get four iconic Wano costumes - one each for Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Nami - for free.
