We finally have a One Piece Odyssey release date. The sprawling piratical RPG, which is intended to commemorate the franchise's 25th anniversary, is set to arrive on PC and consoles in January next year, so get ready to join Luffy and company on an unforgettable journey.
When is the One Piece Odyssey release date?
Per a special Bandai Namco stream for the game (thanks again, Nibel), the One Piece Odyssey release date is January 12th next year. For some reason, the game is hitting Steam one day later on January 13th. Still, that's not too much longer to wait if you're hyped about what looks like the biggest One Piece gaming project yet.
You might remember that One Piece Odyssey was originally slated to arrive sometime this year. However, Bandai Namco has clarified that the game needs a little extra time in development, so it's not arriving until January now. Hey, remember what Miyamoto said about delayed games!
What is One Piece Odyssey?
One Piece Odyssey is an RPG set in the One Piece universe, as you might expect. It follows the Straw Hats and their leader, Monkey D. Luffy, as they end up shipwrecked on a mysterious island. Devoid of their powers, they must explore their new environment, piecing together what's happened to them and how they can recover their powers and their ship.
It won't just be Luffy you'll be playing as in One Piece Odyssey, either. The game will also offer the chance to play as Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and various other members of Luffy's crew. Plenty of quests will be available to undertake, and you'll be able to explore lots of deep, dark dungeons too. If you love One Piece and you've been looking for a more substantial way to immerse yourself in the franchise, this could well be it.
One Piece Odyssey launches for PC and consoles on January 12th (or 13th if you're a PC player). You can pre-order the game right now via the official website if you're after a physical copy, and you can also wishlist it on Steam to stay up to date with the latest news.
