The time has almost arrived when we'll be able to enjoy One Piece Odyssey. In the newly released launch trailer, we get a look at what our voyage might look like and what to expect from the JRPG.
Getting a look at any new gameplay is always exciting, and of course, the One Piece anime and manga have a ton of hype so it's no wonder fans of the series are ready to try their hand at being a pirate. Not only do players get to embody the iconic Monkey.D.Luffy, but they will also be able to play as several other known characters from the series. This also is not the first time we see the crew within a video game, as titles such as One Piece: World Seeker and One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 exist. Though, this will be the first time the series has been turned into a JRPG, as the previous titles are mainly action-adventure games.
The crew has been caught in a horrible storm, and the outcome was not anticipated, as they ended up with a shipwreck on their hands. Now stranded on an island that is constantly surrounded by raging storms, it is up to us to find a way off of this chunk of land in the middle of the sea. Of course, the crew was separated once they came to their senses after the wreck, so we will be facing whatever mysteries this island holds for us alone until we can find our friends.
Fans can expect to take to the high seas in One Piece Odyssey on January 13, 2023, and the game will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One.
