One Piece Burning Blood

Earlier today Bandai Namco announced that a new One Piece game would be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Xbox One. The new One Piece game will be called One Piece: Burning Blood and is currently slated for a 2016 release

One Piece: Burning Blood is being developed by Spike Chunsoft. Spike Chunsoft is the combination of Spike and Chunsoft in early 2012 and they have worked on the Danganronpa and Attack on Titan games. One Piece: Burning Blood will throw you into the weird and wacky world of One Piece and let you fight as your favorite characters in fast paced combat. A trailer was also debut today via Bandai Namco's European YouTube page.

Not too much more has been revealed about the game apart from the use of devil fruit and haki being used to pull off special moves. From the trailer above we can see there seems to be a focus on the brotherly bond between Luffy, Ace and Sabo. Other characters that appear in the trailer include Crocodile, Enel and Donflamingo. The range of characters present seems to imply that characters from all points in the series.

Hervé Hoerdt, VP of Marketing and Digital at BANDAI NAMCO had the followng to say

Meeting our fans on public & private events is a good way to get feedback on our games and see what the expectations are. ONE PIECE: Burning Blood is the perfect example of us creating a game impeccably in-line with fans’ desires. The long awaited pure fighting-game based on the ONE PIECE universe is here! To add to that, we are quite happy to release the game on multiple platforms, especially on a Microsoft console, since it’s the first time ever for a ONE PIECE game.”

Interestingly enough at the end of the release statement it is said that One Piece: Burning Blood will be releasing in Europe, Middle-East, Africa and Australasia in 2016. No word yet on a release window for America.

What do you think of the brief glimpse of this new One Piece game? What kind of fight would you like to see in this universe?
