Nexton released a new trailer of its upcoming 30th-anniversary project, the return of the storied visual novel One.
This time around, we get the reveal of the character design of one of the original game's heroines, Mayu Shiina. On top of the trailer, we also get the full artwork.
The trailer also provides a look at the other heroines from the game. You can watch it below.
At the moment, details about One. are still scarce, but we do know that it's coming for PC and Nintendo Switch in the winter of 2023. At the moment, we don't have a clue on whether there's any chance for a western release.
You may be unfamiliar with the original One: Kagayaku Kisetsu e (which translates into “To the Radiant Season”), it originally debuted in Jaoan as an eroge in 1998 for PC and then ported to PlayStation the following year with the traditional all-age version for the console market.
Type-Moon’s own Kinoko Nasu cites it as a source of inspiration and it's considered one of the most relevant visual novels that pioneered the concept of mixing romance and sci-fi or fantasy elements.
Speaking of which, if you're interested in more visual novel news, Acid is working on bringing back the legendary game Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (also known as Rumbling Hearts) and has opened a Diascord server for gathering feedback in anticipation of the launch of the Kickstarter campaign for a new all-ages version.
