The game OlliOlli World puts a colorful cartoon spin on skating and is only getting bigger. Announced previously, the expansion VOID Riders is now available for download. It adds a sci-fi theme to the game by allowing players to skate somewhere else in the universe. The expansion comes to both the Nintendo Switch and Steam versions of the game with a price tag of $9.99.
Meeting The OlliOlli World VOID Riders
Released earlier in 2022 by Roll7, OlliOlli World is an animated take on the idea of skating. Since it came out, it has performed well and continues to grow. VOID Riders is the latest attempt to add more to the game by taking players into outer space. It adds in several new characters who are extraterrestrials known as Sair’Rah, Khehvyn, and Pftangxi with a mission to acquire strong skaters to take back to their leader. The skaters will be taken to a new world known ominously as the V.O.I.D. This comes with several new transformations for the areas Sunshine Valley, Cloverbrook, and Burntrock. It also introduces a new mechanic in UFO that can abduct players as they skate. Lastly, it adds in new character aesthetics such as expressions, sci-fi outfits, and additional tricks to master.
As with many skate games, the goal of OlliOlli World is to skate. Since it's a 2.5D perspective, players control 3D skaters in a 3D world as they skate from left to right. They will need to guide them safely over ramps, across gaps, and past various obstacles as they do tricks to complete goals and earn high scores. The more players skate, the more rewards they earn in order to customize their characters for more rides across the world of Radlandia.
With VOID Riders added to the game, now there's even more skating to do in a whole new area with all new aesthetics to obtain. This is just one of two OlliOlli World expansions with the second one being planned for the Fall.
