If you're in the market for a new graphics card and don't want to spend an arm and a leg for a top-tier solution, you can now spend what would easily be considered an arm and a leg for a mid-tier solution, as Nvidia has announced the Geforce RTX 4070 (without the "ti").

Following the release of the RTX 408... ahem... 4070ti, the manufacturer is launching the 4070 tomorrow, April 13, priced at $599. Of course, if you don't live in North America, good luck finding it at that price.

Below you can find a spec sheet, calling it a "giant leap" over the 3070. We should probably take that claim with a bit of a grain of salt in terms of raw performance, but you're getting the new-ish Ada Lovelace architecture, DLSS 3 with its Frame Generation capabilities, 12 GB G6X VRAM, and a 200W TGP. At the very least, it takes less juice from the power source than its predecessors.

Below you can also watch a trailer featuring the RTX 4070, including a look at the Founders' Edition, which finally drops back to two slots, taking less space in your case than the rest of the humongous RTX 40XX series. It also comes with a few performance claims like 77 FPS in Microsoft Flight Simulator without DLSS and 145 FPS with DLSS3.

That's at 1440p paired with an i9-12900k. The level of detail isn't mentioned, but I seriously doubt that's Ultra considering how it runs on my 4070ti.
