The Messenger

If you're looking for more free games, two more games are free on the Epic Games Store this week. Additionally, we've learned what next week's free game is.

This week you can nab Nuclear Throne, a top-down twin-stick shooter roguelite. The game has you going through a dungeon, nabbing as many upgrades as possible in your goal to sit on the titular nuclear throne. It's a noble goal, of sorts. I mean, you'll become a noble at the end of it. Isn't that what it's all about? If claiming the throne isn't your thing, you can also nab top-down cyberpunk game Ruiner. A fast-paced shooter where you play as a revenge-seeking robot, your goal is to survive onslaughts of bullets and lasers to take down various enemies and get revenge for... well, it's not exactly clear. However, you have people's lives to ruin. That's why they call you the Ruiner. Because you ruin them.

What about next week? Epic has revealed that next week's free game will be The Messenger, a 2d platformer that is a hybrid of 8-bit and 16-bit games. At times you'll go through rifts and the entire game changes to a totally different style, giving you an all-new adventure with new threats and platforming mechanics. It's a real love letter to the past, and one we found to be exceptionally worth playing for both fans of the genre and those who want to go on a nostalgia trip.

You have until November 14th to grab Nuclear Throne and Ruiner, then you can get The Messenger from then until November 21st.

How do you feel about this batch of free games? Going to get any of them? What if we combined all three into a single super game, would that be a good time? Let us know in the comments below!
