Today Grasshopper Manufacture has launched a teaser website with a countdown hinting that "something's gonna happen" in approximately 71 days.
To be precise, the countdown is at 71 days, 14 hours, and change from now, and it doesn't really say much else, besides featuring funky lime and pink colors.
The website was launched exactly as 00:00 on March 30 Japan time, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the developer on March 30, 1998.
Incidentally, in case you're wondering, the countdown is set to expire during the main livestream of Summer Game Fest, which will air on June 8 at 11:00 am PDT, 2:00 pm EDT, 7:00 pm BST, or 8:00 pm CEST, depending on where you live. This means that we're likely to see whatever announcement this is happen during the event hosted by Geoff Keighley.
If you're unfamiliar with Grasshopper Manufacture, it's the studio founded by popular developer Goichi "Suda51" Suda, well-known for games like the No More Heroes series, Lollipop Chainsaw, Liberation Maiden, and The Silver Case, which was the studio's debut game in 1999.
In 2013, the studio was acquired by GungHo Online Entertainment, but then split off from it in 2018, with part of it staff remaining at the previous parent company as Supertrick Games. Grasshopper Manufacture was then acquired by Netease in 2021.
It'll be interesting to see what they have in store, and you can expect to hear all about it here on TechRaptor when the announcement is made on June 8.
