Nintendo has announced two brand new additions to the Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Advance library, and if you're a fan of high-octane racing series F-Zero, you'll be pleased with this month's haul.
As announced earlier today, the GBA games F-Zero: GP Legend and F-Zero Climax will be released for Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack members on October 11th.
The latter game has only ever been released in Japan before now, so this'll likely be your first chance to get to check it out if you're in the West. This isn't the first time Nintendo has released Japan-only GBA games for Nintendo Switch Online, either. Long may the practice continue.
F-Zero: GP Legend first launched for Game Boy Advance in 2004, with development being handled by Wario: Master of Disguise studio Suzak Inc. (now sadly defunct).
The game features a story mode in which you must complete a series of different objectives across races, all while playing as F-Zero characters like Rick Wheeler, Captain Falcon, and Samurai Goroh.
Suzak also handled development on F-Zero Climax, which was released in Japan the same year as the Western release of F-Zero: GP Legend.
It looks to be a pretty interesting evolution of the classic F-Zero formula; while it's got plenty of the high-octane races you're used to from the franchise, it also sports a track editor feature and a mission-based Survival mode.
Bear in mind that, just like other Game Boy Advance games on Nintendo Switch Online, you will need an Expansion Pack addon if you want to play these two F-Zero games. You can grab the addon from the Nintendo eShop if you're interested.
F-Zero: GP Legend and F-Zero Climax arrive on Nintendo Switch Online on October 11th. Stay tuned for more on this and all other things Nintendo Switch Online-related.
